Hong Kong transit information
This project for Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway was
to develop a customer-oriented approach to real-time information provision
for the journey from the street through the stations, underground walkways
and trains.
The team did extensive transit system and user research,
dealing particularly with the need to harmonise the new Airport Express Line
and existing urban service, and yet maintain their distinctive market positions.
The solution lead to an integrated strategy based on harmonising visual and
auditory information flow across different stages stages of the customer journey,
appropriate for the needs both of Hong Kong’s three million commuters and
significant tourist contingent.
: interaction and graphic designer. I visualised the user scenarios and final recommendations across various display types, and designed the backlit information panels for the Airport Express Line trains.
