AT&T banking machine

This project was an investigation commissioned by AT&T to explore how colour touchscreens might replace the existing ATM format which have buttons outside the screen.

The project included user research, user testing with several interactive alternatives, and a final graphical prototype. A design language was developed to differentiate entry fields and buttons, while allowing flexible branding and background images. User privacy is protected by not filling in confidential information until the user selects a button directly under the information field. Strong coloured arrows and animations guide the user in interaction with the machine. Subtle full screen animations fill the waiting time while the machine is processing information.

my role: senior interaction designer and graphic designer. I contributed to the interaction flow, screen designs, client liaison and documentation.
